The Cape Neddick Light Station was built in Maine in the year 1879. The lightkeeper's house is two stories and includes a living room, dining room, kitchen with pantry and laundry. A covered walkway connects the light-keeper's house to the tower. The light is located in a 41 foot tower, 88 feet above sea level. The tower is 13 feet in diameter, built of brick, about 18" thick, and reinforced by an outer shell of iron.
Today a vacation in York, Maine, would be incomplete without a visit to "The Nubble" seen from Sohier Park which attracts visitors from all over the world.

Encouraged by his early success, he continued his studies at the Maryland Institute of Art, graduated from the Art Institute of Boston, and became a life member of the Art Students League of New York. Mr. Cooke has studied and painted in Europe, and has exhibited his paintings throughout New England and California.
His work is in private and corporate collections, and he has received numerous awards for his oil paintings.
